Ann has many years of experience in the fight against child abuse and neglect. As a long- term board member of the NW Children’s Foundation, she helped raise and grant funds to many local and regional agencies. Her family fostered and adopted children. She recruited foster parents, and she worked as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA).
Her careers included teaching junior high math and selling financial products to clients of regional banks. She is now retired and committted to facilitating change in mental health services for all children.
Ann summarized below her personal experience while seeking professional, specialized therapy:
Three of my children were special needs. Finding the right therapist for each was exhausting, extremely time consuming, and often disappointing. We had many false starts with the wrong people. If I had had the Alliance’s online search tool, it would have been a real life saver for me and our family!
